FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Granada Hills, CA - InterCoast Colleges has opened a new campus in Granada Hills, bringing career-focused vocational training to students across the San Fernando Valley and surrounding Los Angeles communities.
The Granada Hills campus was established to give students a local option for hands-on, career-focused education through selected InterCoast programs. The campus currently offers the Electrical Training Program and Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies, with certificate and degree options available in substance use disorder counseling.
"At InterCoast Colleges, our focus is to provide students with structured training, student support, and an educational environment that helps them build technical knowledge, professional skills, and confidence," said a representative of InterCoast Colleges. "The Granada Hills campus allows us to serve more students in the Los Angeles area while continuing our mission of accessible career training."
The Electrical Training Program introduces students to foundational electrical concepts, safety practices, and practical skills relevant to the electrical field. Training is aligned with California requirements for electrical trainees. InterCoast Colleges does not issue an electrical license. Students pursuing work as electricians in California must meet state requirements, which may include obtaining an Electrical Trainee card, completing supervised work hours, and satisfying applicable examination requirements.
The Granada Hills campus also offers Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies, covering substance use disorder counseling, recovery support, ethics, case management, counseling skills, and related professional practices. Degree pathways are available in this field, including the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling. Certification and licensure requirements are determined by outside agencies and may vary by state. InterCoast provides education and training but does not issue professional certification or licensure.
Beyond program-specific instruction, InterCoast Colleges incorporates professional development, communication, problem-solving, and workplace readiness into its approach, supporting students in building both technical knowledge and professional habits relevant to training-related environments.
The Granada Hills campus is designed to serve a range of students, including recent high school graduates, working adults, and individuals considering a career change. Students may have access to support services such as academic guidance, career services, and financial aid information for those who qualify.
InterCoast Colleges is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training and is approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Programs, schedules, and availability may vary by location.
The Granada Hills location reflects InterCoast Colleges' continued effort to expand access to vocational education across California, offering training in skilled trades and behavioral health-related fields connected to areas of ongoing workforce need.
